0.5 mm steel pad printing cliché
Pad printing cliché in 0.5 mm hardened carbon steel, ground flat, cut to size, with an etching service.
0.5 mm and 10 mm steel cliché for pad printing.
0.5 mm steel clichés offer an economical mid-range solution in terms of durability, which ranges between 100,000 and 250,000 prints. Typically, there is a loss of quality, but we do not use standard steel on a roll. Our thin steel plates undergo an additional process and are lapped and ground flat, which improves the ink cup's doctoring, eliminating any wave that might be present in the base material. It also opens the pores of the material, allowing a much more chemically consistent etching.

Frequently asked questions
About the 0.5 mm steel pad printing cliché
What material is the steel pad printing cliché made of?
IBPRINT's steel cliché is made of hardened carbon steel, 0.5 mm thick, with a rolled surface. It is not made from standard steel on a roll.
Why are the steel plates ground flat?
The thin steel plates of the pad printing cliché undergo an additional process in which they are lapped and ground flat. This improves the ink cup's doctoring, eliminates any wave in the base material and opens the pores of the material, allowing a more chemically consistent etching.
Are thinner steel clichés available?
Yes. In addition to the 0.5 mm steel cliché, IBPRINT offers 0.2 mm and 0.3 mm sizes.
Can you cut and etch the steel cliché?
Yes. Steel clichés are cut to size, several die-cutting sizes are available and we offer an etching service. They are made on quotation: tell us the machine, the thickness and the design to be etched.
