UVPO UV-hardening screen printing inks

UVPO series UV screen printing inks for treated polyolefins: corona-treated or flame-treated polypropylene and polyethylene.

Colour

  • Varnish / clear

UVPO series UV-hardening screen printing inks were developed especially for printing treated polyolefins such as corona-treated polypropylene, polypropylene sheets (street banners), rigid polypropylene sheets, as well as corona-treated or flame-treated polyethylene (packaging printing).

Properties

The print offers good adhesion, water resistance and fast drying. If high mechanical resistance is required on flexible materials (for example on polypropylene sheets, polyethylene tubes), adhesion and weather resistance can be increased considerably with the UV/H hardener.

Other substrates

As well as offering good adhesion on polyolefins, UVPO inks are suitable for printing on paper, polystyrene and some grades of PVC.

The different grades of the materials to be printed require prior print trials.

Frequently asked questions

About the UVPO UV-hardening screen printing inks

Is UVPO ink suitable for screen printing on polypropylene?

Yes. The UVPO series was developed especially for treated polyolefins: corona-treated polypropylene, polypropylene sheets (street banners), rigid polypropylene sheets and corona-treated or flame-treated polyethylene for packaging printing.

Does polypropylene need to be treated before printing with UVPO?

Yes: UVPO ink is designed for treated polyolefins, with corona treatment in the case of polypropylene and corona or flame treatment in the case of polyethylene. As material grades vary, prior print trials are required.

How can UVPO adhesion on flexible materials be improved?

When high mechanical resistance is required on flexible materials, such as polypropylene sheets or polyethylene tubes, the adhesion and weather resistance of UVPO ink can be increased considerably with the UV/H hardener.

What other substrates does UVPO ink print on?

In addition to polyolefins, UVPO UV screen printing ink is suitable for printing on paper, polystyrene and some grades of PVC, always with prior trials.
